It’s been ten long years since technology giant Apple announced its first iPhone in 2007 at the hands of late Steve Jobs. Back then, nobody except for Steve Jobs knew the potential of a pocket-sized computer dubbed iPhone that later went on to revolutionise the way we use smartphones even today. Finally, Apple on Tuesday announced the most-anticipated tenth-anniversary special edition of iPhone at Steve Jobs Theater in San Jose, CA.

Design-wise, t offers glass on both front as well as the rear. In terms what Apple iPhone X has to offer, it has a big 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED edge-to-edge screen with a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels resulting in 458 ppi pixel density. It is made up of Ion-strengthened glass and offers oleophobic coating to keep smudges and fingerprints off the display. The special edition iPhone X gets its grunts from Apple’s A11 Bionic six-core processor and 3GB of RAM similar to iPhone 8 Plus.

Apple iPhone X is IP68 certified dust and water resistant, up to 1.5 meters and 30 minutes. It comes integrated with Apple Pay support for seamless online transactions. On the camera front, iPhone X houses dual rear (12MP + 12MP) cameras with f/1.8 aperture for wide-angle and f/2.4 for telephoto, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), Dual Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), and quad-LED two-tone flash. It is backed by a variety of camera features such as HDR, 4K recording at 60 frames per second (fps) and 1080p at 240fps, and face detection.

The list of supported sensors consists of Face ID for security in addition to accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer. In terms of connectivity, Apple iPhone X supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB 3.0 reversible and magnetic connector. iPhone X storage options start at 64GB and go up to 256GB. Last but not least, it supports wireless charging much like iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

On the software front, iPhone X runs on Apple’s latest iOS 11. With iPhone X, Apple also announced the new set of emojis called Animoji to be integrated with iMessage. Apple iPhone X comes in two colour options: Silver and Grey. Apple iPhone comes in two storage options 64GB and 256GB and start at $999 (approximately Rs 63,960). Pre-order starts October 27 and shipping starts November 3.
