Apple has been the leader in the smartphone industry since it released the first iPhone back in 2007. Since then it has been ten years and to commemorate this special occasion the company has launched three devices, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X. The company held the event at the Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park Campus in Cupertino.
The Apple iPhone 8 Plus features a 5.5-inch retina display with true tone colours. The new iPhone 8 Plus features a glass back, and has been sealed to provide dust and water resistance. It is powered by the A11 bionic processor which can also be found in the iPhone 8 also. The company introduced two storage variants of the iPhone 8 Plus, 64GB and 256GB.
As for the camera, the iPhone 8 Plus features a dual camera setup with both the telephoto and the wide angle cameras having a resolution of 12-megapixel. The smartphone also supports 4K video resolution with 60fps. The camera also offers a portrait mode similar to the iPhone 7 Plus which allows users to click the images with a bokeh effect.
The new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus come with Augmented Reality (AR) support. The new processor has a specific set of processors which will handle AR.
The company will start taking pre-orders for the new iPhone 8 Plus from September 15 and will start shipping it on September 22. The phone will be priced at price will be starting from $799 (Roughly Rs. 51,150). The device will come in three colour options – Silver, Gold, and Space Grey.
