Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will arrive in India next week on September 29. While pre-orders for the latest iPhone models will begin on Friday, September 22, on Flipkart, Reliance Jio might offer several plans for the premium iPhone devices.
According to a report from IANS, the telecom operator will be taking pre-bookings for the new iPhone 8 smartphones at Reliance Digital outlets, Jio.com website from September 22 and September 29. As per the report, customers who pre-book the handsets between the said period will get cashback offer of up to Rs. 10,000. However, to avail, the offer users will need to make the purchase through Citibank credit card. Besides this, Reliance Digital will offer a 70 percent buyback on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus if they return the smartphones after a year. Additionally, Jio is said to launch a tariff plan exclusively for the iPhone 8 series. The upcoming Rs. 799 plan will provide 90GB of data, free SMSes, subscription to Jio apps, and free calls. For prepaid users, the validity of the plan is 28 days for prepaid users, while postpaid users will be offered one billing cycle.
As mentioned, the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be available for pre-order on Flipkart and a few other e-retail sites including Amazon India and Infibeam. On Amazon India, pre-booking will be up at 12:00 AM IST today and users can register on the website for notifications. Flipkart will also be taking pre-orders for the iPhone models. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models are listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on the website. The e-commerce site will be offering 10% off on SBI bank debit and credit cards, up to 10% off on payments through the PhonePe wallet, and 5% off on Axis Bank Buzz credit cards. You can get notified about the availability of the smartphones by entering your email ID on Flipkart. Infibeam will be starting pre-orders as well for the iPhone devices from midnight.
Both the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus features a glass back with metal chassis around the corners. The new iPhone 8 series comes powered by Apple’s latest A11 six-cores Bionic chip. The iPhone 8 sports single camera set up while the iPhone 8 Plus has dual rear camera array. Both the devices support wireless charging. As for the pricing, the iPhone 8 price starts at Rs 64,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs 77,000 for 256GB storage version. The iPhone 8 Plus meanwhile comes for a price of Rs 73,000 for 64GB storage and Rs 86,000 for the 256GB model.
