Rumour mill have been suggesting three Apple iPhone 8 models for this year and company is expected to bring wireless charging as well. But recently a report had come out suggesting only one premium iPhone 8 model to feature wireless charging and not all. Interestingly, another report now claims that all three iPhone 8 models will feature wireless charging, not just one.
On Thursday, a Macrumors report citing Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, KGI securities noted that the all three anticipated iPhone 8 models will feature wireless charging. Kuo expects Apple to put an ‘additional graphite sheet lamination’ to combat malfunctioning due to overheat, since wireless charging increases the internal temperature and phones are expected to feature glass casing for wireless charging.
“While we don’t expect general users to notice any difference, lamination of an additional graphite sheet is needed for better thermal control and, thus, steady operation; this is because FPCB is replaced with film, which is more sensitive to temperature change of the 3D touch sensor in OLED iPhone,” wrote Kuo in a research note says Macrumors.
These alleged iPhone 8 models according to the analyst will feature an OLED display and a new 3D Touch module. The cost of the iPhone is also rumoured to go higher (may be up to $1000) because these expensive internals.
Although KGI securities Ming-Chi Kuo is a known Apple analyst, but we still feel that these are all very vague speculations. Things like wireless charging were expected during iPhone 7 and 7 Plus launch too. There were also rumours about the iPhone 7 Pro model with wireless charging last year, but nothing turned to reality. So we suggest you to take all such rumours with grain of salt until anything offcial comes from Apple itself.
