Motorola has officially announced the global roll-out of Android Nougat update for Moto Z and Moto Z Force. A Lenovo’s division, Motorola, will start rolling out the latest Android update for its two modular phones this week.
Alongside its latest Android OS update, Motorola has also said that the two modular phones from the ‘Z’ flagship line will be compatible with the Google’s VR platform Daydream. With the company mentioning its two handset to be VR Daydream compatible, Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be the first third-party Android devices to get recognition from Google as ‘Daydream ready-devices’. Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones were the first smartphones that tasted Google’s high-quality mobile VR platform.
The devices being certified for the Daydream platform based on its high-resolution display and ultra-smooth graphics, the two Moto Z handsets will enhance the user to view virtual reality apps and games by using the Daydream View headset.
Motorola says that the “Daydream offers an unprecedented opportunity to dive into a kaleidoscope of experiences. With Daydream the user can explore new worlds, attend a sporting event or concert, enjoy their own personal cinema and so much more.”
Although Motorola’s has made announcement on Moto Z and Moto Z force handset OTA(over-the-air)update for Android Nougat 7.0 this week, the update will vary based on the carrier approval and country. With a few Verizon customers in US reported to receive the Android updates on their Moto Z and Moto Z Force Droid smartphones already, the update will take days or even month to reach the users across other confines of the world owing the Moto Z or the Moto Z Force. Motorola however, has already set up a website which will allow the users in different parts of the world to check as when the update will make its way out to their phone.
