Android Nougat update finally rolls out for Moto G4 and G4 Plus units in India. The users can now download the latest OS update on their devices. Along with the upgrade the users will also get the November Android security patches.

As the file size is large, the company advise the Moto G4 and G4 Plus users in India to download the file via Wi-Fi connectivity. The company also suggest that the device should have at least a 50 per cent charge before downloading the file. The update will take almost 20minutes to install on the device.

The update pops out on the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus units with a notification quoting “new system software is available!” If the users have already received the message they should select Yes, I’m in, once the software is downloaded select ‘Install Now’.  If the users have not received any such notification they can manually update selecting Settings> About Phone> System updates.

Lenovo in its website has cited the upgrade will improve the mobile experience with “new multitasking features, more efficient notification controls and improved data and battery features.” The site also mentions about the new Moto action called Swipe to shrink the screen. To know about the feature the user needs to open the Moto app from the app tray, go to “Actions” and select “Swipe to shrink the screen.”

The Over-the-air update like usual OTA upgrades will be processed in phases, and will take time to reach all the Moto G4 and G4 Plus units across the country.

With the release of Android Nougat for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force handsets, the company has confirmed that Moto X series along with Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2 and Moto Z Play and Moto Z Droid will get Android Nougat update soon.
