Amazon introduced its Amazon Prime membership in July of 2016 in India. This membership was brought in India for Rs. 999, however, as an introductory offer the service was priced at Rs. 499 after a discount of Rs. 500. The membership includes free fast delivery on eligible items, unlimited streaming of the latest TV shows and movies with the help of Prime Video and soon to be introduced Prime Music which allows the users to experience ad-free and on-demand music across devices. Additionally, prime members would also get 30-minute early access to lightning deals.
If you are already an Amazon Prime member then this doesn’t affect you, however, if you were thinking of purchasing the Prime membership for yourself then this might be the best time. Amazon India has announced that it will be stopping the introductory offer on October 30 at 11:59, hence bringing the price of the membership from Rs. 499 up to Rs. 999. Users who purchase the membership before October 30 will be charged Rs. 499 for the first year after which the cost of the renewal of the membership will be Rs. 999.
Amazon recently also announced the Echo smart speaker series in India. Amazon Echo is a smart speaker lineup which is a hands-free, voice-controlled device that uses Alexa voice service to play music, set alarms and timers, check your calendar, weather and sports scores, manage to-do and shopping lists, control smart home devices, and more-instantly. Additionally, it can also play music from online streaming services like Amazon Prime Music, Saavn and TuneIn.
