Highlights

    • Amazon offering heavy discounts on smartphones
    • Limited period offer
    • Apple iPhone 7 Plus on discount as well

With Goods and Services Tax going into effect on July 1, 2017, practically every online retailer is offering a ‘pre-GST’ sale, giving users an opportunity to purchase products at discounted prices. Amazon India is running their sale from June 19, 2017 all the way to June 21, 2017 and offering discounts on some many smartphones, including the likes of Apple’s iPhone, OnePlus 3 and several Samsung devices. If you’re looking for an impulse purchase, a gift for some someone or just plain old in need of a new device, here is the best of what Amazon’s deals have to offer.

Apple iPhone Deals
No deal list is complete without the mention of Apple products. Amazon is offering significant discounts across the board on various models of the iPhone. Currently, the offers listed under the sale apply to the iPhone SE, iPhone 6,  iPhone 6s, and the iPhone 7 however, the iPhone 7 Plus is also being sold at a discounted price. The prices of the five iPhone models are listed below

  • Apple iPhone SE (Space Grey, 16GB) – Rs. 19,999
  • Apple iPhone 6 (space Grey, 32GB) – Rs. 24,999
  • Apple iPhone 6S (Gold, 32GB) – Rs. 33,999
  • Apple iPhone 7 (Black, 32GB) – Rs. 42,999
  • Apple iPhone 7 Plus (Black, 21GB) – Rs. 56,999

We wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy a smartphone with 16GB of onboard storage, especially a smartphone that doesn’t have the provision for expandable storage. You will find yourself constantly running out of space and over a period of time, owning an iPhone with just 16GB of storage becomes more of a hassle than a convenience. We strongly recommend considering the Apple iPhone 7/7 Plus though. You can read our review of the Apple iPhone 7 and the Apple iPhone 7 Plus if you’d like some convincing.

OnePlus Deals
Oneplus 3 also gets a price cut in Amazon’s sale, dropping from the usual sale price of Rs. 27,999 to Rs. 26,999. For some reason, the OnePlus 3T (6GB RAM + 64GB Storage) is also listed under this sale, with a selling price of Rs. 29,999, which is the original selling price of the device, to begin with. IF you’re wondering if the 4 percent discount on the OnePlus 3 is a ‘steal deal’, then just head on over to our review of the OnePlus 3.

Moto Deals
Motorola just got done launching the Moto C Plus in India today, but while that is a Flipkart exclusive, for now, Amazon has a number of Moto devices up for grabs at reduced prices. Here’s the list

  • Moto Z (Black/White, 64GB) – Rs. 29,999
  • Moto X-Force (Black/Grey, 64GB) – Rs. 15,999

Lenovo Z2 Plus
We’ve raved about the Lenovo Z2 Plus and its amazing value for money proposition price tag. Originally launched at Rs. 17,999 for the 3G/32GB storage variant and Rs. 19,999 for the 4GB/64GB storage model, both the variants are seeing a massive price cut on Amazon. The 3GB RAM version can be had now for Rs. 9,999 while the 4GB RAM version is now selling for just Rs, 10,999. Just to refresh your memory, the Lenovo Z2 Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, a chipset that was the flagship at this time last year. We spoke rather of the Lenovo Z2 Plus in our review.

Samsung Deals
Samsung has a very extensive portfolio of devices available in the market right now. However, Amazon has the below-listed devices available at discounted prices

  • Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro (Gold) – Rs. 7,190
  • Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro (Black/Gold) – Rs. 8,690
  • Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro (Navy Blue/Gold, 64GB) – Rs. 25,990

LG G6
The LG flagship, G6 is now available on Amazon at a heavily discounted price of Rs. 39,990. Originally, the phone launched at a price of Rs. 51,990. While the LG G6 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and only 4GB of RAM, it packs a 2K display in the new 18:9 aspect ratio, giving it a nearly bezel-less design. It also comes with an IP68 rating, drops resistance, dual cameras and quad-DAC built in. The display on the LG G6 is Dolby Vision enabled and supports HDR content from various sources including Netflix. At the revised price, the smartphone is a steal and if you’re not convinced, just head over to our review of the LG G6.

Amazon has a number of other smartphones on offer, but the ones listed above are the most worthy of a mention. In the time it took to write this review, a few smartphones have already been sold out, so we recommend that if you want to grab one of these deals, you make haste.
