Airtel TV users now get access to movies, TV shows and live sports from 22 channels across Star India's network

Airtel has entered into a partnership with Hotstar, wherein it will provide its Airtel TV users with bulk of Hotstar’s content though not all. This deal gives Airtel TV users access to movies, TV shows and live sports from 22 channels across Star India’s network in nine languages, all for free under a promotional scheme which will last until June. This partnership doesn’t include most of Hotstar’s English content including – HBO, Disney, Showtime and Star’s own English channels.

Sameer Batra, CEO Wynk, Airtel’s entertainment subsidiary said in a statement.

After this partnership, Airtel claims to have over 350 channels available in total which also includes 35 HD channels. Additionally, Airtel now also offers 10,000 movies and TV shows on demand.

Airtel recently has been working really hard on improving its television set-top box services. They launched a fully redesigned User Interface last year, after which they offered users getting the Airtel TV set-top box a full year of Amazon Prime service for free. They also have partnerships with Eros Now, Hooq and Sony Liv among a few others for content.
