Airtel has come up with a new Rs 799 special recharge plan to select users. By opting for this new plan, existing Airtel customers will benefit from free, unlimited local and STD calls. It’s worth pointing out that this plan is limited to Airtel prepaid subscribers. Since it’s a special recharge plan, it may not be available for new Airtel users.
Subscribing to this plan will also get users 3GB of either 3G or 4G data per day. It comes with the validity of 28 days. So, users need to recharge the plan every 28 days in order to retain all the benefits.
Airtel Rs 799 plan apparently counters Reliance Jio iPhone offer. As part of the deal, Jio has a similar Rs 799 tariff plan up its sleeves that offers 90GB of data, free SMS, unlimited voice calls and Jio subscription to Jio services. It comes with the similar 28 days validity for prepaid users. For more details on Jio iPhone offers, make sure to read our previous story.
Reliance Jio has a slightly similar Rs 509 plan available for its prepaid customers, offering unlimited data, voice calls, and SMS. It has a daily limit (FUP) of 2GB of data up to 112GB. Once the limit exceeds, speed will be further reduced to 128kbps. The best part, it comes with the validity of 56 days, unlike Airtel.
Recently, Airtel reportedly announced a new Rs 199 plan that offers 1GB of data in addition to unlimited voice calls for 28 days. In order to counter just that, Jio updated its existing Rs 149 plan with new benefits.
