In a bid to circumvent Jio’s newly launched plans for 2018, Airtel has launched a new plan to tempt users. The new Airtel Rs 93 prepaid plan offers 1GB of 3G/4G data bundled with unlimited local & STD calls.
The plan includes unlimited call benefits on local, STD and roaming calls and 100 SMS per day. While all these appear lucrative, the validity of the pack is only 10 days. In comparison, Jio’s Rs 98 pack brings 2.1GB of 4G data, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and unlimited access to Jio apps with a validity period of 14 days. The Jio pack comes with a daily data cap of 0.15GB and post daily limit, the speed is reduced to 64Kbps.
If you take a good look, Airtel Rs 93 pack has no daily data limit. Users can use up the entire 1GB of data in a day or over 10 days.
Vodafone also has a Rs 95 prepaid plan that brings 1GB of data at 2G/3G/4G speed for 28 days. But it is a pure data pack and doesn’t include any calling benefits or free SMS. Further, users will be charged 4paise per 10kb post 1GB data usage.
Notably, Vodafone and Airtel just recently launched new prepaid plans to compete with Jio’s Happy New Year 2018 plans. Both the telecom operators have announced prepaid plans offering 28GB 4G data, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, 100 SMS per day for a price of Rs 198 (Vodafone) and Rs 199 (Airtel) respectively. Meanwhile, Jio offers a slightly better plan for a similar price of Rs 199. The Jio Rs 199 pack provides 33.6GB high speed data along with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls in addition to unlimited SMS and access to premium Jio apps and services.
