Airtel in a move to take on Reliance Jio’s JioFi M2S 4G hotspot has slashed the price of its 4G Hotspot from Rs 1,500 to Rs 999. The JioFi M2S got its price slashed in half from Rs 1,999 to Rs 999 in a promotional offer run by the company around three months ago. These hotspot devices let users connect multiple devices to it and get 4G connectivity over WiFi, allowing each and every device of the user to have internet connectivity on the go.
“Airtel 4G Hotspot delivers a superior multi-device online experience, wherever the customer may be, by leveraging Airtel’s pan-India high-speed data network. What’s more, it now comes at a great price with some very affordable plans that offer large bundles of data,”
said Ajai Puri, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Airtel.
As of now, the Airtel 4G Hotspot is available at all the leading Airtel branded retail stores across the country at the newly slashed price. The company in a press note also informed the customers that the 4G device will soon be available on Amazon India similar to the JioFi which is available on all leading online shopping websites in India including Jio and Reliance Digital Stores.
One of the good things about this device is, that the hotspot will automatically shift to a 3G network in the absence of the Airtel 4G network. It can connect up to 10 devices at one go and comes with a battery life of up to 6 hours as per the company. The only catch here is that the Airtel 4G Hotspot will only work with an Airtel SIM card and any other SIM card will get rejected. But no surprises there as even the JioFi works exclusively with Jio SIM cards.
