This year, Xiaomi has been extremely focused on the Indian market and releasing budget phones which consumers shall find excellent value for money. Xiaomi recently released the successor to Redmi 4A in the Indian market – Redmi 5A, and they are calling it the ‘Desh Ka Smartphone.’ Xiaomi Redmi 5A starts at Rs 4,999 in India for 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and goes all the way up to Rs 6,999 for 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Interestingly the Rs 4,999 price tag for the 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage variant will be only valid for the first five million devices. Afterwards, the price will increase to Rs 5,999. Interestingly, storage may not be much of a problem for the users as both the variants feature a separate microSD card slot. Last but not least, Xiaomi Redmi 5A is the cheapest smartphone Xiaomi has ever launched in India.
