The Mi Max 2 features a 6.44-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) display with a pixel density of 342ppi. The phone comes with a 2.5D arc glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The display on the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 gives a decent level of colour reproduction with crisp details . The colours aren’t as saturated, but the contrast is good and it offers good visibility in harsh light. The viewing angles are good and the phone gives you the option to adjust the contrast level and change the colour temperature to warm or cold. You can find the contrast tweak mode under Settings>Display>Contrast & colors
The Mi Max 2 also offers Reading mode that blocks out blue light emission and gives the front panel a warmer tone for a comfortable reading experience at night. The auto-brightness on the phone however is not that accurate meaning it doesn’t always works well and unfortunately, we had to calibrate the brightness level manually most of the times to adjust with the outdoor lighting.
Overall, the display on the Mi Max 2 provides enough space to comfortably consume content and play games. With a screen having ‘tablet-style’ form factor and dual stereo speakers at the base, watching videos, streaming TV series is a pure delight.
People who conduct a lot of business on their smartphones would also find the real estate offered by the Mi Max 2 to be very helpful. Working on PowerPoint files or Word documents is easy, as is manipulating data in Excel. For a mid-range smartphone, we would say that the Mi Max 2 will be worth considering given the decent pricing.
