Xiaomi introduced its tablet-style smartphone, Mi Max last year and it has now brought the second generation of its phablet, the Mi Max 2. While the new model carries some similar aspects to the original Mi Max, Xiaomi has pegged in a more refined design and a massive battery on the Mi Max 2. Priced at Rs. 16,999, the Mi Max 2 is quite likely targeted at a niche audience who prefer a large sized screen with a durable battery packed in an affordable price range. The Mi Max 2 really looks like a compelling phablet, sporting a classy metallic design and decent specifications. However, the question here remains is how far the Indian consumers will convert their preference from a smartphone featuring compact form factor to a large-screen sized handset.
