Optiemus Infracom-owned Kult is a new name in India’s smartphone market. Interestingly, it’s a brand which belongs to a company, which is solely responsible for designing, manufacturing, marketing, and distributing BlackBerry-branded handsets in several countries such as India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Now, a debut in the low-tier segment with the help of a new brand is seemingly a noteworthy move for Opteimus Infracomm as keeping the price lower initially may help the company make a name for itself. Earlier this month, Kult’s first smartphone named Beyond made its way into the entry-level bracket which is currently dominated by many Indian and Chinese brands such as Intex, Coolpad, Swipe, etc. Joining the party is the Kult Beyond, and it’s the device which comes at the price of Rs 6,999.
So, given that it’s priced competitively, it appears to be on par with most of the budget smartphones already available out there. But from what we have seen in the past, specifications aren’t everything. There’s something we know as real-world experience, which differs from a device to device. So, coming to back to your big question, whether the Kult Beyond has what it takes to stand out and pit against some of the well-established brands in the country, we’ve tried our level best to find that out.
