The Google Pixel 2 XL pegs-in a 3520mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charge. Using the Pixel device as a daily-driver, it gave a day’s worth of usage.
With the supplied charger, the device takes a few seconds to wake from the dead and charge up to 100 in nearly two hours. The Pixel 2 XL lasted for over 16 hours each day with heavy usage that involves browsing several tabs in Chrome, texting on WhatsApp, streaming YouTube. With light usage, the phone will last for more than 20 hours.
In our video loop test, with brightness level pulled to the extreme, it gave us an estimate of about 8.5 hours. During the 30-minute game-run, battery drained by 4-5 percent. On PC Mark, we got an estimate of 10 hours and 23 minutes.
For a moderate user, there’s nothing to worry about the battery life as it almost touches a day’s line. But if you are among those who like to drag heavy games overboard, stream HD content for hours, we would recommend to keep an eye on the battery percentage and of course carry the charger to prevent the device from taking a long nap.
